[ okay so aoi had gone straight for harrow when they first showed up, but that doesn't mean she's not worried about sheila, too!!! probably!! (hard to tell because of her vacant soulless eyes? oh well.) ]

I don't know. Monsters? They wanted to hurt us. We had to kill them in self-defense, and this... just sort of happened, I guess.

What were the monsters like? Too scary to perceive? Eldritch?

Ever read Jack and the Beanstalk? They were kind of like the giant... If the giant had an unhealthy obsession with food, and one of their parents was way too into snakes.

Not quite. A giant that was like a snake. Their neck extended. It was pretty horrible.

No... Definitely more solid than a ghost. More blood, too.

At least they weren't so horrifying that your mind couldn't process them, and had to replace them with something harmless and innocent looking. You might really lose your grip on reality if something like that happened.

As long as the monsters you're perceiving as monsters are actually monsters, everything is fine.

Well... the monsters I ran into looked monster-ish, and that did not feel fine.

So there's a killer and monsters.

Maybe just the one killer...? None of the monsters followed us.

Aoi doesn't think a plot hook like that would be introduced and dropped again so quickly... So the monsters will probably come back.
